It’s all nostalgia for a time when it was all new and people were interested. I’m sorry to say, but there was no real Vocaloid magic. Vocaloid already filled that niche, and many many songs which I’m sure mean a lot to you have come from it, which I think is why you think Vocaloid is superior.
Synth V is the same as Vocaloid, it just came out at a time when the gimmick attracts no one and so it seems like it has no “magic”. From there on, Vocaloid started losing popularity with the general weeb population and got replaced by Vtubers since that’s able to fill the uncanny valley anime girl niche now. Maybe it isn’t now, but look at how small the general fandom is. The voice and the character was always second to that. Miku only got popular as she did because of the strangeness factor of a “robot” singing rather than a person. Voice synths in general are one massive gimmick. I don’t think any voice synth based music will hit the same high vocaloid did as well, but it or not, if you’re going to call Synth V a gimmick, then you have to be fair and realise Vocaloid is one too and always was. And by all means, tell me your unpopular opinion.Īs a fan of both Vocaloid and Synth V, let me throw my extremely hot take into the ring.
So yeah, try not to raise your pitchforks at me please. The uniform is ok and I’m just not a huge fan of the twin drill hairstyle. Thats why voicebanks like Luka and Gumi exist, cause their voices actually work for softer songs.Īlso while I don’t dislike her entire design, I dont think tetos design is that special. Like I said, her voice is strong but I personally think its TOO strong for some songs that are meant to be soft. Dont get me wrong, her growl is amazing, and her voice is very strong however I’ve come across some Teto stans who lowkey refuse to acknowledge that her voice doesn’t work for every type of song out there. I know shes an utau, but I really dont think Teto is as good as some people make her out to be. Also his hat reminds me of cat in the hat and not in a good way. Look, the fact that his hair is pure bright red, combined with the fact that his skin is white as paper in the boxart, makes him look too much like Ronald Mcdonald to me. I’ll start….I absolutely hate Fukase’s design. I mean unpopular opinions about the vocaloids themselves, the fandom, designs, ect. I don’t mean opinions about songs (I have a whole other post dedicate to that)
